A Commitment to Holistic Wellness

Welcome—

My name is Dr. Eugenia Garbolevsky and I am a Mental Health Counselor specialized in Psychology and Behavioral Health & Social Services as well as Yoga and Mindfulness Training based in Massachusetts.

I hold an MA degree in Mental Health Counseling and an MA degree in Women’s Studies from The Boston Graduate School of Psychoanalysis and a Ph.D. in Comparative History from Brandeis University. I am also a qualified Mindfulness Teacher and a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT).

This interdisciplinary academic and professional background brings together the complementary fields of mental health counseling, psychoanalytic theory, women's and gender studies, comparative history, mindfulness practice, and contemplative movement. Collectively, these areas provide a multidimensional framework for understanding human experience, integrating psychological insight, historical and cultural analysis, social context and embodied awareness. The combination of these disciplines supports a holistic and nuanced approach to research, teaching, and practice, allowing for a deeper exploration of identity, resilience, creativity and personal transformation across individual and collective dimensions. While you may choose to focus on one modality, such as yoga or therapy, you will experience the benefits of my entire integrative approach to healing.

As an educator and a healing arts practitioner, and having lived in various countries and have had the privilege of extensive travel. My life’s experience has expanded my horizons and fostered a deep appreciation for the world and all beings.

It was not until a time of uncertainty and global issues that emerged during the COVID pandemic where I turned to Mindfulness, delving into the teachings of Thích Nhất Hạnh, a Vietnamese Thiền Buddhist monk, peace activist, prolific author, poet and teacher, who founded the Plum Village Tradition, historically recognized as the main inspiration for engaged Buddhism. He is also known as the "Father of Mindfulness". Teachings, such as "No Mud, No Lotus" and "Your True Home” were some of my inspirations. While studying mindfulness, I felt that I needed to dive deeper and immerse myself in Buddhism. After partaking in several retreats, my journey led me to the Harmony Yoga School.

Every day I am continuously learning that as we approach pain, we approach the gifts of the breath and being.

My Unique Approach

I am an educator and a healing arts practitioner. I have lived in various countries and have traveled extensively.  This experience has expanded my horizons, and fostered a deep appreciation for all beings. It was not until a time of uncertainty and  global issues that emerged during the COVID pandemic where I turned to Mindfulness, delving into the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. He is historically recognized as the main inspiration for engaged Buddhism and known as '“The Father of Mindfulness”, Teachings of "No Mud, No Lotus" and "Your True Home” were some of my deepest inspirations.

While studying mindfulness, I felt that I needed to dive deeper and immerse myself in Buddhism. After partaking in several retreats, my journey led me to the Harmony Yoga School where I became a certified Yoga Teacher.  I am learning every day, that as we approach pain, we approach the gifts of the breath and being.

This interdisciplinary academic and professional background brings together the complementary fields of mental health counseling, psychoanalytic theory, women's and gender studies, comparative history, mindfulness practice, and contemplative movement. Collectively, these areas provide a multidimensional framework for understanding human experience, integrating psychological insight, historical and cultural analysis, social context, and embodied awareness. The combination of these disciplines supports a holistic and nuanced approach to research, teaching, and practice, allowing for a deeper exploration of identity, resilience, creativity, and personal transformation across individual and collective dimensions.

While you may choose to focus on one modality, such as yoga or therapy, you will still experience the benefits of the entire integrative approach to healing.
